Mission - At The Heart of Who We Are

We do a lot together as a family of faith. We sing together, play together, cry together and mature in our faith together. We understand that we are all "works in progress." Our congregation's purpose statement reads, "We are on a journey, sharing our story."  At the heart of this journey is God's call to us to reach out with love, compassion and acceptance to all of God's children.

Milwaukee Rescue Mission

During Advent 2010 BCC designated the Milwaukee Rescue Mission as the recipient of our Advent offering. Representatives of the mission presented their work to us in December. Through the generosity of our members, we were able to send $5325 to the MRM.  learn more >>>

Global Architectur Brigades - Honduras 2010

December 2010:  Frank D Cummins gives a presentation in worship about a mission trip to Honduras to help in building a school for kids who live in poverty. BCC responds with generous support for the trip and lives are touched. Frank will be with us next March with colleagues from the trip and share personal experiences anad insights and take us through a video presentation. (Sneak preview below)

Frank is an engineering student at Northwestern University in Evanston Illinoios.

Funding Misson - The Largest Rummage Sale in the Burbs!

BCC is known for it's annual Spring Rummage Sale. What you might not know is that after expenses, all proceeds go to missions.  Last year's recipient of these funds included:

• Guest House, a shelter for homeless men in Milwaukee
• Hope Network for Single Mothers in Menomonee Falls
• Waukesha Women’s Center
• Cooperating Congregations of Waukesha County
• Salvation Army of Greater Milwaukee
  

Around the World!

Our passion for mission has taken our High School Youth Group, ETC, on a mission trip in 2008 to Mexico and in 2009 to Biloxi, Mississippi. The 2009 trip to Biloxi was to help with the ongoing work of reconstruction in the aftermath of hurricane Katrina. There is a video clip about this United Church of Christ mission on the media page.
